Silhouette Sentiments

Today's card is a birthday card- always handy to have one around and I've been a bit short of them lately! I used Just Add Ink's sketch challenge 52 for this one and I must say it turned out better than I expected.

The colours I used for my card are Stampin Up's very vanilla, crumb cake, night of navy and early espresso. The antique brad looks great with the gorgeous satin ribbon and I used the big shot for the oval shape. The stamps are from a set called Silhouette Sentiments- which you can get for free when you host a workshop with sales of just $300!

This card has quite a few layers so it does become a bit heavy- I combat this by adding a layered decorative strip to the back of the card to even out the weight to make it stand up better.

This one came together quite easily and I am really enjoying it, but I'm off now to
mother's group so I'll see you later!

Summer Scrapbooking

I am finally getting my teeth into the huge pile of scrapbooking ideas that I have for all of my son's photographs- he's seventeen months old so I'd better get moving- he'll be sixteen before I know it!

This one is from the Stampin Up Convention last year, using my son's photograph that was taken at daycare by a professional photographer.

Although I never ever put butterflies on anything, I do quite like this butterfly and it has made me warm to them. I especially like the saying stamped on the butterfly.

The colours used are gorgeous and summery- poppy parade, baja breeze, soft suede, whisper white and old olive.

The other one I wanted to show you is my own design, using the scrumptious Tart and Tangy stamp set-

I used peach parfait, bashful blue and real red here as the colours co-ordinated nicely with my son's shorts. This is a photo taken after 'Rainbow Day' at daycare, one of my favourite pictures of my son from his first year. A simple but cute scrapbooking page.

These two are six by six pages- a great way to save time, cut down on costs and make the project more managable! This is an excellent way to start scrapbooking- Stampin Up offers some gorgeous albums in both the 12x12 and 6x6 sizes, starting from $38.95. I'm using the 6x6 linen post album for these projects.

Remember that you can order any of these supplies through me, book a workshop where I come to your house for some fun with friends, or you can come to one of my classes!

Birthday Card for Hubby

Here's a bright, fun card I made for my husband's birthday next week, using Stampin Up's In Colours peach parfait and poppy parade:

I used the heart and pie images from 'Every Little Bit' and the sentiment from 'Well Scripted'- only available in the summer mini for a short time! Lots of glitter applied with heat n stick powder and crystal effects makes the images jump off the card. The scallop border punch and the paper piercer on either side of the card finishes it off.

I had fun making this one!

Anniversary card

This week I have been busy stampin'- but haven't had my camera to show off all my hard work! I got it back today finally. It's my five year anniversary this month so I made a card for my hubby using the latest Mojo Monday sketch:

I had quite a difficult time choosing colours and making it look like an aniversary card but at the same time appropriate to give to a man! I hope I succeeded. My husband likes antique things so that's what I was aiming for. I used marina mist, crumb cake and early espresso, with the "flowers never fade" stamp set.

I hope you like it- and I hope he does too!
